The Italian Team GoEleven outfit is planning to run a second bike on the World Superbike grid for the upcoming 2017 season. At present, the outfit owned by Gianni Ramello and run by Denis Sacchetti fields a single bike effort with Spain’s Roman Ramos, but very much hopes to have expanded its horizons by the time the 2017 campaign kicks off.

“We want to introduce a second bike,” Sacchetti, the Team Manager, confirms to WorldSBK.com. “I don’t know yet if it’s possible for us, because it depends on the budget and some other things, but we want to make this step.

“The team would be better having two bikes in the WorldSBK category. We compete in World Supersport with two bikes, so two in World Supersport and also in World Superbike would be fantastic for us and this is our goal for next year.”

GoEleven currently runs riders Christian Gamarino of Italy and Andrej Jezek of the Czech Republic in World Supersport. When asked whether one of these two riders has a higher chance of moving up to World Superbike than a new rider being drafted into the squad, Sacchetti replied:

“Yes, this is possible. The GoEleven team works in this way. Depending on his results, we can take a young rider from World Supersport and bring him onto the Superbike; this is the current way for us, to help young riders and ‘keep it in the family’.”

Team GoEleven’s Roman Ramos – the FIM CEV Moto2 Champion of 2013 – has finished every race he has started so far this year, racking up two ninth place finishes and three top ten results in total.
